Verdict

Soulcage is a rock n roll outfit hailing from Finland the metal loving country. Soulcage have all sorts of influences raging from rock, and progressive. With the band having all ready established themselves as a great live band and making some thought-provoking videos the band are certainly on a rise. Their new album ‘Soul For Sale’ was released in the UK on April 23rd through Hellas Records. The album has already reached 8 and 10 on the official Finnish Download and singles charts already. The band have said ‘Soul For Sale’ is a great listen from start to finish are they right? lets find out.

The first track off the album ‘Flaming Flowers (Send in the clowns)’ starts the album off with a fine bang full on rock n roll with elements raging from Rock and Pop you be tapping your feet in no time. Lovely keyboards in tune with the guitars this track is perfect. And it gets better with next track ‘I See’ starting off with a very melodic keyboard and crunching riffs see the band display there melodic tone with vocalist Aleksi Parvianen displaying vocals rage from the lead singer out of Span or Million intact the band do sound a bit like these bands not a bad comparison really. The next track ‘My Canvas, My Skin’ is a bit more of mixture of pop and rock with Chinese like keyboards. While ‘Ride On’ is a more aggressive turn for the band this starts of with a hail of riffs something out of the metal world but still maintaining a softer approach at times with soft breakdowns cracking stuff. Next track ‘Until You find Me’ is more of the same while ‘Satellite Children’ is the bands ‘Ballard’, acoustic, pop and rock. ‘Bleeding’ starts off like something out of a soundtrack to Rocky it will knock you out get it? Lol the rest of the tracks ‘Orgin’ ‘Stranger In You’ go from strength to strength. So far I have noticed the band have many differences from Queen to Span melodic, rock and pop mixed into their songs but still maintain that classical rock sound. The last 2 tracks ‘You Get So Alone’ and ‘MIA’ seal the album on a very high not Vocalist Aleksi displaying a more aggressive approach.

So to sum up this album? I would have to say I was very surprised by this album it has everything fantastic drumming, riffs, keyboards and many different influences this band are sure to go places. Only drawback for me was the lack of solos but apart from that a solid display worthy of a listen.
