Verdict
After reviewing there EP last December Rattlesnake have released their full length debut album recently. Have this young rock n roll band put out a great debut album? On with the review.
The first track off the album is “Assault” which sets the tone of the album. This is how a first song should start on a rock album. There are additional 5 tracks that have made it from the EP to the album and on some have been slightly modified, though there is not a lot of difference the songs still sound amazing.
The next track “End Up Dead” just sounds so refreshing for a band that are still young they have set out there stalls, blistering good old fashioned rock and roll.
The third track “Tip Of The Iceberg” is another track from the EP that has been slightly modified but sounds excellent. With the fantastic clean vocals from Tref Davies to the excellent riffs from Will Wallner this is just a throwback to classic 80’s rock.
The forth track “Zombie Town” is like something out of a horror movie, very fun track to listen to again everything is played to perfection excellent stuff indeed.
The fifth track “Guns Blazing” is a song you just want to get up and start banging your head very catchy vocals.
The sixth track “March Of War” starts off with a nice melodic Solo followed by some great rock n roll headbanging, typically this song is about a soldier and the various struggles of war very emotional and at the same time a great track. So far so good these songs have not disappointed.
The seventh track “Hired Guns” starts the song off with an explosive tempo faster drumming and faster heavier riffs brilliant. There is a fantastic chorus on this song.
This track sounds like a scene from an old cowboy film with gunslinger about to have a duel or shootout with somebody at high noon brilliant stuff.
Next track “Rage” is again a heavier track with vocalist Tref Davies letting out a lot of anger.
Next track “Obsessive” slows things down a little. This track is an all out down and dirty raw song brilliant stuff.
The last 2 tracks “Wash The Pain” and “Hitman” are just fantastic songs to end the album on a high.
Overall Rattlesnake have created a fantastic good old-fashioned 80’s rock sound with a beast of a debut album. I really enjoyed this album and could not find one bad moment on it. I hope that this band gets recognized more. With the majority of rock n roll bands claiming that they have brought back rock it’s just a load of old crock. This is a band that you can you look up to. Everything is spot on the guitars, bass, drums and brilliant vocals. If this band plays any gigs around your area check them out. Highly Recommended!!!!
