BISHOP
Steel Gods
Tracklistings 1. Burnout Bitch Listen Verdict I received a press kit the other day from a band called "Bishop" I also had a request to review there third album "Steel Gods". First off this is a new band I usually like to listen to a lot of underground bands but to my astonishment they seem to have been around for a while they are 3 brothers from New York Tommy (Guitars, Lead Vox) Rocky (Drums, Vox) and Vinny (Bass, Vox) they formed in 1999. The first few tracks that I played I was amazed this band seems to be a well-oiled working unit that has the ability of hitting the big time. After listening to this album I thought to myself why aren't this band in the limelight more often? There Music is based on Hard Rock and have the influences of Guns 'N' Roses and the swagger of Motley Crue Vinny's vocals are superb and the drumming and the guitars are top notch some excellent melodic solo's. So on with the tracks then. The first track "Burnout Bitch" starts the pace with a dirty Rock 'N' Roll feel to it with a thundering riff some old school classic rock. The second track "Dancing' On My Grave" stats off with a slow pace to the song one note to mention is Vinny's vocals sound like "Scott Weiland" which for me saying this is a big compliment. The third track "Steel Gods" starts of with a fantastic riff as if a train is coming over the mountains this track is just brilliant and the solo to add to this track is just as good. The forth track starts of with a slow kind of Ballard with reminds me of Guns 'N' Roses "Civil War" with a chorus like "with my feet on the ground and my hands in sky I want to praise my lord on want to fly so high" just riveting stuff indeed. The fifth track "Trip To Planet X" starts off if the band are indeed taking a trip to Planet X then the fast drumming kicks killer stuff all round. The sixth track "Outlaw Beaver" has a bit of a punk feel to it. The Seventh track "Got The Fever" has a bit of bluesy rock feel to it that you can kind of dance to. The rest of the album follows in similar fashion. From the start of the album until the end this is just a brilliant record with a band in full pace and in my opinion should make it big there a lot of rock bands these days that claim they are the best thing but these 3 brothers from New York know how to play, sing, and most of all play classic rock the way it should be played. I stress you should check this offering out the album will be released sometime this month.
